ILWIS as a GIS/RS software provides a framework for researchers not only to create, store and visualize geospatial data but also to implement analytical analysis, data modeling and monitoring natural and manmade changes on the Earth. For the users, to make comprehensive use of the tools and functionalities offered by new ILWIS, it is essential to get acquainted with basic concepts as they are adapted in ILWIS.
