Action bar tabs of ILWIS Main Window
The Action tabs provide users with the tools that can be used to manipulate the displayed data objects in the active catalog, to open single or multiple data objects simultaneously, to copy data from one catalog to another and to update or refresh the content of the active catalog. The Action tabs are located at the bottom of ILWIS main window inducing 4 tabs (Figure 1):

Filter

The Filter tab provides different queries to select objects to be displayed in the active catalog in order to decrease number of the displayed objects. For example, you may apply filter to only view feature coverages or only view raster coverages or domain or any combination. The filters also allow user to switch between different system catalogs or between various master catalogs. The filter options can be used to organize the data in the active catalog based on countries name or based on geographical region. It also provide possibility to filter the data using certain keywords or a certain time preference.

Selection

The Selection tab supports actions to be applied on single or multiple ILWIS data objects. For example, you can generate preview from a single or multiple data objects and you may add or remove keywords from a single or multiple data objects. It also provides the possibility to open multiple data objects in a selected, a new or multiple floating panel(s).

Copy

The Copy tab provide a simple and effective way to copy ILWIS objects from one catalog and save it into another. Its role is either to save an exact copy of a selected object or to save the object in other data format. The possible formats for each type of ILWIS object are listed in number of down drop lists each representing different data object. By checking the option box Convert on drop the selected object data will be copied, converted and saved in the chosen format.

Refresh

The Refresh tab, performs action to keep the content of the active catalog updated. It provides various options, based on which the active catalog can be refreshed and updated.
