Open a Table

To open a table:

  • Double click on a table in the active catalog


It opens a table in an ILWIS Table panel within the catalog(Figure 1). The Table panel consists of a data panel, Action tabs at the bottom and an options panel in the middle (Figure 1). The data panel is used to view the tabular data while action tabs are used to view their properties and the options panel allows actions such as sorting, creating graphs and viewing data summery statistics.

  • Click the Operations tab to view the available columns, their domain and a list of operations that can be applied to a selected column
  • Click the Statistics tab to view basic statistics for all columns with value domain

By default, the tabular data will be opened bin a data panel enclosed within the catalog (Figure 1). The opened table can also be moved out of the catalog as a standalone view (Figure 2).
To do that:

  • click the icon available on the right corner where the table view id is displayed on the left top corner of the table panel

The Actions tabs at the bottom of Table window includes three tabs: Operations, Statistics and Graph.
The Operations tab allows to view the available columns, their domain and a list of operations that can be applied to a selected column.
The Statistics tab shows basic statistics for all columns with value domain.
The Graphs tab provides tools for graphical visualization of columns data individually or two columns in counter to each other.
